Dr. Bill DeWert

Dr. Bill DeWert, DMD, graduated from Washington University School of Dental Medicine in 1974 after his undergraduate work in engineering at CalTech and the University of California at Berkeley. He has been performing clinical dentistry full-time since then.

In addition to his many years of part-time clinical teaching and guest lecturing at Washington University, he authored scientific papers and was a columnist for the Pulitzer newspaper St. Louis Post-Dispatch for 11 years, dispensing answers to reader's questions about their dental health. He was on NBC's Health Team for five years, seen locally on Channel 5, KSDK.

He enjoys working with his patients every day and has been most gratified in his private practice by the use of implants to restore broken smiles. Like the other doctors at Advanced Family Dental, he is heavily involved in continuing education and seeks those courses and techniques that will keep the office on the leading edge of dentistry.

Dr. Christopher Dowling

A native of St. Louis, Dr. Chris Dowling graduated in 1970 from St. Louis University High School. He continued with the Jesuit tradition and attended Boston College where he attained a bachelor's degree in Biology in 1974. He completed his studies at the University Of Missouri School Of Dentistry in Kansas City in 1978. Since that time he has been engaged in full-time private practice in the Bridgeton area.

Dr. Terry Egan

Dr. Terry Egan graduated from Parkway West High School and in 1984 completed his undergraduate and dental education at Creighton University in Omaha. He completed his post-graduate training in the specialty field of periodontics (treatment of bone and gum diseases) in 1986 at the University of Houston in Texas. Dr. Egan has been practicing periodontics in the St. Louis area for over twenty years. He emphasizes that keeping your own teeth for as long as possible is the best dental treatment for each patient.

Dr. Michael Cherre

Dr. Michael Cherre was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1954, the second of five children. He graduated from St. Louis University High School, where he was a member of the 1970 State Championship Football Team.

Dr. Cherre chose St. Louis University for his college studies, majoring in Biology. In 1976, he graduated Cum Laude and matriculated to the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry, where he earned his D.D.S. degree in 1980. He returned to St. Louis University for his Orthodontic specialty training.

Outside of orthodontics, Dr. Cherre is a huge baseball Cardinals and St. Louis Rams fan. He also enjoys skiing, jogging and lifting, and finds relaxation in washing and waxing the family's automobiles. Dr. Cherre is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Greater St. Louis Dental Society, the Midwestern Society of Orthodontists and the Alexander Discipline Study Club.
